What is the story of Path of the Abyss?
Path of the Abyss is a single-player role-playing game in which you explore dark dungeons in a hand-drawn black-and-white world. From there, you create your own hero who goes into a huge maze like dungeon and fights monsters, while unveiling secrets.
The battles take place in real time, but you have the option to pause and think. When the game is paused, you can check to see what enemies will do next, heal your troops, choose the right skills, or set defenses. Then, when you unpause, everything happens at once.
Before each battle, you arrange skills across a 3×3 grid known as the Formation Panel. This layout applies to your entire party, so choose wisely whether focusing on attacks, healing, or crowd control because good planning allows you to turn what once seemed like a tough fight into an easy victory.
You can fully customize your character with different abilities, stats, and gear. Want a fast rogue who dodges attacks? Or a heavy armored knight who protects allies? The choice is yours.
