Windows App for iPhone, Mac, and Android

Now, you can use Windows on almost any device!

Microsoft has launched a Windows app that works on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, web browsers, Android devices, and even Windows PCs. This app lets you use a version of Windows through services like Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Remote Desktop.

This feature has been tested for about a year. It’s like a “unified app” that gives you a customizable home screen, supports multiple monitors, and lets you use things like webcams, storage devices, and printers with your local devices, just like they’re connected to a cloud computer.

Only for Work and School Accounts

The new Windows app is mainly for people who use Remote Desktop clients on different devices. But, Microsoft says that the app is limited to work and school accounts only for now. They already have similar services like Remote Desktop Connection.

Microsoft hasn’t said anything about making this app available for personal accounts yet. Last year, they did say they want to fully move users to cloud-based Windows and develop services powered by AI. Their goal is to eventually move Windows completely to the cloud.

If you want to try it out, you can download the app from the Microsoft Store. It’s also available on the Apple App Store, and the Android version is currently in public preview mode.
