It was different from any other RPG I played when I first took OFF. What happens when you go into this game? You meet the Judge, who introduces himself in this weird world, where he talks about the composition’s serious mission to purify everything, and the Batter, as the player to guide him along that journey.
Not all the game has to do with fighting; solving puzzles, going into unexplored areas, and figuring out swan boats and locomotives are only some of the odd mechanics you have to deal with in this game. Sometimes it’s just a bit non-linear but also exciting, given that each area has some strange characters and odd beings. I like the mystery surrounding it; it leaves me waiting for the next thing to come.
Judge speaks in very direct kinds of ways, yet at times he reminds you that you aren’t alone. However, not everything is friendly. For example, in Zone 1, there’s a real mad protector who doesn’t welcome you at all-at all. He clearly says that if you don’t go out with the ghosts, he will kill you. That tense moment honestly gave me chills when I first played. It really sets the dark mood of the game.
OFF is your type of game if you enjoy the old-school RPGs mixed with brain-teasing elements within the storyline and some great characters, exploring the world. The atmosphere was like none I have ever played. Although at first glance it doesn’t seem kind of complicated, as you become familiar with the different zones, you will start really feeling the unusual energy of this world and the weight of the Batter’s mission.

My Experience
I played it at night, and it got to me for everything was just so eerie about the overall vibe-the music, the odd, weird dialogues, the way characters spoke, it just struck really dreamlike. Some were hard, especially when facing off against aggressive enemies, but the puzzles in between were breaks. It’s that type of game people don’t forget even after playing it through.
