Fans everywhere are all set. Counting down to what can most likely be one of the strongest opening nights of Gamescom 2025, this year’s opening night live. From what I’ve gathered around, tons of major titles have been confirmed to be exhibited. Call of Duty Black Ops 7, Resident Evil Requiem, Ghost of Yōtei, Ninja Gaiden 4, Silent Hill F, The Outer Worlds 2, World of Warcraft Midnight is some of these names doing the rounds as confirmed.
There’s a chance that Silk Song might finally make an appearance. That is really the one announcement that everyone has been waiting for years, and if it actually shows up, the hype will be massive.

Gamescom 2025 Big Reveals Ghost of Yōtei, Ninja Gaiden 4, and More
Of all the revelations, one would be most eager to know the fate of the Ghost of Yōtei. This is one of the high-profile launches on PlayStation this year and is meant to be set with a gameplay-focussed preview. The release is set for October, and if all goes according to plan with the showcase, players should have a good idea of the world and how it can be controlled through the combat system.
Resident Evil Requiem will also be there for horror enthusiasts. Trailers earlier had created a buzz, and now more gameplay will be revealed. I remember that feeling when Resident Evil Village was revealed for the first time, and it gave me the same kind of excitement as this new entry.
One that I’m excited to see is Ninja Gaiden 4. Fast combat has been a hallmark of the series, and the fans have waited for a new entry that is considered an official one for a very long time. Having it in Gamescom leads me to believe that this time around, the developers would really want to bring back that classic style but with modern polish. Silent Hill F is also expected on the horror side. That one feels special. Just the thought of seeing new footage gives me chills.
Most likely, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will also take a few minutes in front of the screen. I know many feel the games are pretty predictable by this point, but I have played every version of Black Ops since the first, so I really try to see what they add this time. Even if it’s just some new multiplayer maps or story cut scenes, the community will definitely be close.
World of Warcraft Midnight is also on the list. Blizzard promises to reveal not only the extension, but also a film-style trailer, which sounds big in its usual cinematic manner. The Outer Worlds 2 is another RPG worth attention. Obsidian already proved themselves able to create big sci-fi stories, so I expect some more on combat systems, exploration, and perhaps even new factions.

That said, the wild card is most probably Silk Song. Though not confirmed, all the leaks and whispers suggest either a teaser or a small demo at least. And for someone who’s played Hollow Knight way too many times over, I really dearly hope this is accurate. It has been a long wait, and Gamescom feels like such a perfect place for that reveal.
Let alone a surprise announcement for which people will speculate, gaming fans are looking forward to these titles. Horror fans have Resident Evil and Silent before them; RPG players have The Outer Worlds 2, action frontline fans have Ninja Gaiden, and everyone else can look forward to Ghost of Yōtei. But you never know; sometimes there’s that one big “shock” announcement at Gamescom that steals the whole show. People are even throwing around Final Fantasy as a possibility, though that seems unlikely.
The countdown is almost over; all gamers are preparing. New trailers, gameplay footage, and possible demos: this event could easily set the tone for 2025 within the world of gaming. I know I will not leave the screen and will continue comparing all these details with the last trailers, hoping for one of those unforgettable announcements that you talk about for years.
