A Surprise Cameo Steals the Show
Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the Assassin’s Creed fan-favorite, just made an unexpected leap into a game outside Ubisoft’s realm. Last night’s ID@Xbox Showcase dropped a double bombshell. First up: Balatro’s hitting Xbox Game Pass. If you’ve got a subscription and haven’t tried this gem yet, now’s your shot to dive into one of last year’s standout titles. Never heard of Balatro? Trust me—I’ve sunk way too many hours into this poker-roguelike mashup—it’s no fluke it snagged a Game of the Year nod.
Balatro’s Big Update Brings Assassin Icons
The second reveal? Balatro’s fourth “Friends of Jimbo” update rolled out, and it’s packed with crossover goodies. Alongside nods to Bugsnax, Civilization, Slay the Princess, Dead by Daylight, Critical Role, Rust, and Fallout, you’ll spot Assassin’s Creed stars. The update decks out the spade suit with Naoe, Jacob Frye, and the one-and-only Ezio from Assassin’s Creed II.
