Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD is part of the Assassin’s Creed series that hardly gets talked about among fans, but honestly, it is one of the most interesting in the series. I played it first on an old laptop that was not very powerful, but it drew me in with the story. The setting is around 1765, just when the American Revolution began to make things messy.
In this game, you play as Aveline de Grandpr, the first female Assassin lead in this series. Aveline’s mother is French, and her father is African, which explains her unique story perspective. The Spanish take over Louisiana, and Aveline is there to fight against them. She fights with stealth, weapons, and even disguises. Honestly, switching between her personas is one of the coolest mechanics when I tried it.
Storyline and Setting
Goes to New Orleans, through swamps teeming with danger and even mysterious ruins of the Mayans. The atmosphere is very different from other Assassin’s Creed titles. It departs from the usual European cities or larger historical events with which most titles in the series appeal; it feels even more personal and raw.
One section that felt refreshing while exploring the swamps was the Tree Navigation. This new ability lets characters move through areas not normally found in any other game. It’s not just that; the environment also provides challenges. There are wild animals in the forests and water sections where you have to search for treasures.
With Aveline being pictured in the light of the daily local revolution in New Orleans, it made the story all the more interesting. She isn’t only fighting for herself; she’s fighting for other people whose voices were ignored.
Features of Assassin’s Liberation HD
Play as Aveline: Kill or delete enemies in creative ways, using weapons like machetes, whips, poison darts, and pistols.
New Locations: Explore the bayous of Louisiana, the streets of New Orleans, swamps, and secret ruins.
Tree Navigation: Add a new dimension to the game by making it possible to kill enemies from above while traversing seamlessly through trees.
Improved Visuals: HD graphics, with updated cut-scenes and better sound, make it an incomparably smoother experience than the original release.
Missions: Enhanced missions play out at a better pace, and there are new tasks that delve deep into Aveline’s backstory.
There was a significant difference in graphics when I replayed it with HD compared to the handheld version. It simply made it much more enjoyable-the lighting, character models, and environments made the difference.

My Thoughts
Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD is a game that deserves more credit than it usually gets. Aveline does bring a new element to the Assassin’s Creed series. The missions are a mix of stealth, combat, and exploration. While it may not seem as big as Assassin’s Creed III or Black Flag, that is precisely why it has that uniqueness.
When I initially downloaded and played it, I was not expecting to enjoy it so much. For those who are fans of the Assassin’s Creed video games but want to try something that is a little different from the mainline titles, this will be the one to play.
