With the help of opener Mohammad Shahzad’s stormy century, Afghanistan registered a huge win of 126 runs in the second ODI against Ireland (Ireland vs Afghanistan). Wicketkeeper-batsman Shahzad played a magnificent inning of 101 runs in 88 balls, including 16 fours. Thanks to their innings, the Afghan team managed to score a massive score of 305 in seven overs and lost seven wickets. In reply, Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib took six wickets and put Ireland’s innings on 179 runs. With its victory, Afghanistan has realized its strength before the World Cup 2019.

In this match played in Belfast, Ireland won the toss and decided to bowl first. Afghanistan’s first wicket fell in the fourth over as Noor Ali Jadran (5) but Shahzad and Rahmat Shah took the 150th wicket for the second wicket to take the innings. Rahmat Shah played 62 balls in 90 balls. Hashmatullah Shahidi (47) and Najibullah Zadran (60) (33 balls, 7 fours, and 3 sixes) contributed unbeaten. After 50 overs, the Afghan team scored 305 runs at 7 for 7.
In reply, none of Ireland’s batsmen could play against Afghanistan’s bowlers except Opener Paul Stirling (50) and Gary Wilson (34). The entire Irish team was bowled out for 179 runs in 41.2 overs. Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib took six for 43 in 9.2 overs.
