Forty-five years were spent by Fuzzy Zoeller and his wife, Diane, together, but she passed in 2021. From then on, there’s the view from people around them that they never did seem to have been apart. Many felt that the couple was finally at peace together when Fuzzy himself passed away in 2025.

Fuzzy Zoeller, whose birth name was Frank Urban Zoeller Jr, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of seventy-four. I remember watching TV with my uncle when I was little. Every time he saw Fuzzy, my uncle was like, This guy is just the type of dude who gets joy from golf. That stuck with me.

Numerous golfers voiced personal remembrances and reflections on his passing, but the cause was never revealed. The birth date of Fuzzy was November 11, 1951, and he made his name in golf by winning both the Masters of 1979 and the U.S. Open of 1984. He was a ten-time title holder of the PGA Tour and continued in popularity even when his main playing years were long gone.

He grew up in Indiana and became a professional in 1973. Fans were fond of him because he appeared so fun and relaxed, although news about him came again several years later due to a comment he made concerning Tiger Woods. Regardless of what transpired, most people in golf still knew him as a familiar face.

After 45 Years Together And 4 Years Apart Fuzzy Zoeller And His Wife Diane

Diane Zoeller was Unfolding Rapid Dementia Many Years Before Her Death

Diane Thornton Zoeller, wife of Fuzzy, was one of those who was not much into the limelight but was very strong behind. They met in Indiana and got married in 1976. They raised four children together, named Sunnye, Heidi, Gretchen, and Miles.

Diane was born on September 25, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana. She liked the home life, especially in her support of fuzzy through all the happy and tough moments. She was said by close friends of the couple to be the silent strength in his life. When he was busy winning tournaments like crazy or going through stress, she was the one who made things steady at home.

Around 2013, Diane was diagnosed with what Fuzzy called rapid-stage dementia. He once said how much that news hit him hard, leaving an emptiness in him. I can grasp how he feels because my relative also had dementia, and I remember how it confuses and tires everyone. It takes a toll on the whole atmosphere of the house.

Even with all the difficulty, Fuzzy stayed by her side and tried to take care of her as best as he could. Diane was finally gone at age sixty-nine on December 18, 2021, at their home in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Fuzzy lived four more years before he passed away in 2025.

Their children and grandchildren are still here, carrying on with their memories and stories. This is something that often changes the view of life for a family. The legacy of so many years of love will remain within the Zoeller family. You may also be interested in: Stormy Nicole Smith Jameson Obituary A Loving Coach Mother And Friend
