I literally witnessed the entire thing, and I must tell you it really broke my heart. The incident followed a mother from Florence, Alabama, by the name of Jodie Wear Jo Jo, who posted something really serious on her Facebook wall about her daughter Arieanna Sky Wear and what had gone on with her at Wilson School. The first time I read it, everything that was described brought to my memory some things I witnessed back in my school days, where kids were bullied, and the teachers acted as though nothing had happened.
Jodie said that she saw another story about this boy who got suspended after hitting a bully who made fun of his sick mother. And after she saw that, she felt that her own daughter was also being pushed to that point where she could just not take it anymore. Instead of somebody intervening to help her, she was left wounded in a manner that must be agonizing.
Jodie testified that her daughter finally did stand against the children who had been tormenting her for a long time, but just when she did, someone threw a punch to Arieanna´s stomach and hit her very hard. She was in excruciating pain, and soon she was peeing blood. I felt shocked reading that, for this really is not something small. In my school, I also saw a kid get punched once, and he cried for like an hour, but this was way worse.

Jodie says the bullying was not only from the kids but also from some Pee Wee football cheer coaches and even people associated with the school board. She wrote that she was extremely angry and pursuing some legal action. She put out that other parents should not send kids to Wilson.
Along with this message, she also put out a warning that lawsuits are coming and that her daughter suffered so much because of what happened there. By saying that, it was very clear that she was not just angry but was completely hurt by what had happened.
Jodie went on to narrate the history of the school. According to her, Mr. Wear and Mr. Medley started the school some years ago with love and Christian values. Now she feels everything has changed. She went on to say about teachers touching kids inappropriately, and football coaches coming to houses uninvited, walking in when kids are not even dressed. When I read that, it was just very disturbing because no student should ever feel unsafe like that.
She said how everything in that place just went downhill, and that she hopes that one day it will get better. But she also said her daughter would never go back there again. She said that Arieanna is too good for that school, and they will join cheer and sports somewhere else. Honestly, if I were in her position, I would do the same thing because once some kid loses that faith in a school, then returning seems even more frightening.
Right now, Wilson School has not made any comment on these accusations. No official reply; nothing. And that silence makes the entire matter seem even more serious.
