Wars that would never cease to exist, heroes who chased glories across the space-and-tiny-dots of the heavens, and treasures in gardens that nobody understands. The truth is much simpler: Nobody ever came back from this land.
That’s where you start playing. You wake up as an unnamed undead smack in the middle of all this darkness, and everything is your choice from that point. It’s all about what you come across, what you gather, and how long you manage to survive. But do not expect a happy ending here. This place does not regard anyone’s story as going smoothly.
One thing I liked personally has to do with how free the game gives you so much. You can stroll around in open areas, pick different classes, and experience a battle system called Symbol Encounter that makes fights feel less repetitive. The battles run on an Active-Time Battle system thus, you should remain alert all the time.
And surprisingly, heroines make all the difference. There are actually 21, all drawn from fairy tales we already know. They will not be different in name only, as Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood find their way in here, but each has a slightly sinister twist. Each has her part in shaping your journey.
To sum it up, the game is not limited by a single ending for the players; it has multiple endings where players decide on their paths, which means it is replayable. Dying also does not mean game over. It’s just a step in the whole story. Honestly, it reminded me of times when I kept failing in the game, but rather than feeling fury, it felt very much like I was being tested by the world.
