When I heard about Paul Pierce’s passing, it really affected me. I’m someone who stays loyal to my favorite team, and I felt a connection when I learned that he had loved the Chicago Bears his whole life. Paul Pierce, known to many online as the Famous Football Hero, died at his home in South Jordan on November 30, 2025. He was only 47.

He leaves behind his mother, Beverly; his son, Mayson; his brothers, David and Robert; his sister, Heather, and her husband, Tyler Timothy; and his wife, Jenny. He also had nieces and nephews who looked up to him. Before he passed away, he lost his father, Lewis Wade Pierce, his grandparents, and his fiancée, Suzy, who meant everything to him.

Paul’s life had its share of highs and lows. He married young, right after high school in 2001, to Jody Wilde. Their relationship didn’t last, and they eventually went their separate ways. However, from that marriage came his son Mayson, whom Paul loved dearly. Even though Mayson resembled his mom, people often said his personality was just like Paul’s: the same jokes, the same attitude, the same energy. I can relate to that, as my own father often said the same about me growing up.

Jody even started a GoFundMe to help cover the funeral and memorial costs. This shows that even after their divorce, Paul still had people who cared.

Life gave Paul another shot in early 2024 when he met Suzy Tran. They connected quickly, like when you meet someone and feel you already know them. They got engaged that summer and began dreaming of a long life together. But everything changed fast. Suzy passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2025. That devastated Paul. Anyone who has lost someone close knows how empty that feeling is. I witnessed it in my own family, and it can completely change a person.

Just eighteen days after losing Suzy, Paul also passed away. His family mentioned that Paul struggled with addiction for a long time. Some years, he overcame it; others, he didn’t. This time, it became too much. They find some peace in believing he is with Suzy once more.

Paul was born in Salt Lake City on September 4, 1978. He was the second of four children. From a young age, he loved being the funny one, the guy who kept everyone laughing. If someone didn’t laugh at his jokes, it really bothered him. I understand that feeling because sometimes I joke around a lot, and when people don’t laugh, I feel awkward.

He grew up supporting the Chicago Bears, regardless of their performance. He played Little League as a kid, and in high school, he was the center for the Hunter High Wolverines in Utah.

In junior high, he once wore a knight costume for a school play. Later, he made everyone laugh with his Chris Farley impersonation, especially the famous Matt Foley scene where he smashed the coffee table. People still remember him for that.

For work, Paul spent years as a water technician, fixing broken water lines for Jordan Valley and South Salt Lake. While he was good at his job, he excelled at making people laugh. His coworkers likely have many stories of his random pranks, because people like him always leave lasting memories.

Currently, his family has not shared details about the funeral or memorial service. They are probably still trying to process everything. This is a tough time for them and for anyone who knew Paul. I truly hope they find strength and peace in their own ways.
