I stumbled across this whole drama while checking out some local sports pages, and honestly, it feels like one of those arguments that extends things a bit too far. Erika Estrada posted a very long accusation against Coach D Thee Enfuincer, whose real name is David Adams, and Coach Corey Rock for some supposed serious stuff they’re doing inside MBYFL and Alvarez Titans.
She said that in reality, he is nothing like what he appears to be as an online tough guy. He termed him “disgusting and rude” and said that whenever things go against him, he cries and pulls the race card. She also said that there were some threatening calls made to coaches and other people when he gets angry, which, I think, really made this seem very messy. I’ve seen some grown adults in sports take personal too personally and reminded me of that.
Erika also mentioned past coaching issues and claimed that he was removed from coaching capacities in places such as North High or Watsonville due to his behavior. To her, the entire tough guy attitude online isn’t something he’s going to show off in reality to anyone. She made fun of what he sells for raising funds during school athletics. It sounded as if she had been holding on to this.

Coach D, true to form, hit back. He too posted a long message where he said Erika had been online bullying him since June. He said she bullied him both through fake identities and with her real profile. He claimed that she talked him down to his daughter, and to the Cheetah Athletics Elite Sprint Program, where he coaches. He even went live to state his side.
In his post, he said that Erika was thrown out of three youth football programs, and he ended his message by mentioning an old fight she got involved in. He said she crossed the line when she talked about his daughter. Honestly, having played sports as a child, I don’t see how putting children in adult matters is right.
Not only that, but Erika also accused Coach Corey Rock. She alluded to money matters within MBYFL, implying that people should look into how the funds were being handled. Why should there be so many rules, but Coach Rock can still get money for announcing games? She posed. How is that fair if all the other coaches don’t get to earn anything for games like that? It reminded me of the times I saw adults fighting at tournaments, squabbling over small issues that could easily be solved if everyone were just honest.

She did get banned from 2 youth football programs, but she indicated that it was because she stood up for kids, an incident involving racial profiling, and that someone should not be around kids. Irrespective of whether her side is true or not, such issues definitely sparked heated debate in the community.
Well, for now, this is what everyone at school has been talking about lately. Some ask for more supervision, and others say that both should cool it down. Some say that the focus should return to the minors since youth sports should be safe and positive. This has not yet been answered publicly by Coach Rock.

For those who did not hear, David Adams went to North Salinas High School. He also worked as an assistant coach for track and field at North Salinas High School. He would eventually become an armed guard, but also worked junior varsity coach at Watsonville High School.
All I know from my personal experience is that when adults fight like this in the case of youth sports, the ones who get affected mostly are kids. I have seen it happen before, and it always makes the whole environment quite stressed out. Hopefully, this gets sorted in a proper way so the players do not get dragged into it.
