The crackdown is a game released for Xbox 360 and remastered for Xbox One. Exclusive to Microsoft, the game works as a third-person shooter style sandbox game, that is, with an open world with the full possibility of exploration. The title was designed by David Jones, who also did GTA and Lemmings.

In Crackdown, players control the superhuman Agents with a duty to destroy three criminal organizations from the City of Pacific City: Los Muertos, The Volk, and Shai-Gen. The game is not linear and its main goal is to eliminate the leaders and subordinates of each faction.
