The Dark Souls crowd is as hardcore as they come, and any scrap of news about this beloved RPG series sends them buzzing. Kicking off with the original Dark Souls in 2011, the trilogy has carved out a special spot in gaming history. Since then, two more epic chapters dropped, sparking inspiration for tons of other game series from FromSoftware’s genius.

One thing fans have been begging for, though, is a smoother multiplayer setup. The series has co-op, sure, but it’s clunky and limited. While an official fix doesn’t seem close, a hero named Yui swooped in with a game-changer: the ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod for Dark Souls III, now up for grabs on NexusMods.

Co-op Just Got a Major Upgrade

Yui’s ‘Seamless Co-op’ totally revamps how Dark Souls III handles teamwork. The mod’s pitch? “Play with your buddies from start to finish, no strings attached.” That means you could, in theory, run from the opening tutorial to the final showdown in one unbroken co-op bash.

With this mod, dying doesn’t boot you out—you’re back in action. Beating bosses or clearing zones won’t end your session either. Those pesky fog walls that box in multiplayer areas? Gone. NPC chats sync up for everyone, you can roll with up to five players, and stuff you accomplish online carries over to your solo game. Fans are losing it over this free lifeline, with some pleading for Yui to tackle the other Dark Souls games next. Fingers crossed!
