Addie Latta, a 17-year-old senior at Denham Springs High School and a standout member of the powerlifting team, passed away on November 30, 2025. She sustained serious injuries in a car accident on November 3. Despite the efforts of doctors and her family’s hopes, Addie could not overcome her injuries.
Her parents, Crystal and James Falgout, were heartbroken by the loss of their daughter. Crystal, who works as a barber at Fab Four Barbershop, returned home from Boston immediately, while James remained in Louisiana by her side. Their strong bond with Addie was clear to everyone who knew them.
After the accident, there were brief moments of hope. Addie could squeeze her family’s hands to communicate, offering them fleeting glimpses of her fighting spirit. However, the head trauma she suffered was severe, and her lungs began to fail. Although doctors managed to stabilize her lungs temporarily, a severe infection developed in her brain.
Even in her final moments, Addie displayed remarkable courage. She became an organ donor at just 17, giving others a chance at life. This final act reflected the kind of person she was: brave, selfless, and caring.

A High School Star and Inspirational Athlete
Addie was more than just a student; she was a dedicated athlete who inspired her peers. Family and Community Support
In the wake of the tragedy, the Latta family received immense love and support from friends, neighbors, and the community. Addie’s aunt, Shelby Moore, set up a GoFundMe to help with unexpected expenses. She wrote, “No parent should have to go through this, let alone worry about finances. If you cannot donate, your prayers mean the most.”
The family also expressed their gratitude to the ICU nurses and the CCMS team for their care. Their support during such a challenging time provided comfort and reassurance, highlighting the power of compassion in moments of crisis.
Crystal Falgout shared touching messages about her daughter, saying, “My girl with the cutest button nose, momma loves and misses you.” Friends like Payten Puckett also shared memories, saying, “I love you so much, Addie. Words cannot describe how surreal it is to know you’re not here to cheer me up with your hilarious jokes. You were so full of life, and I am grateful to have been your friend.”
