When I learned of Evan Chain’s passing, my heart sank. He was just twenty years old. He lost his life in a car accident on November 30, 2025, while heading to his job at Club Car Wash. I recall how many people from my school days held early-morning jobs like that. It feels personal.

Evan grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He studied at the PACE Center, where he completed the 10th grade and graduated in 2022. He focused on public administration and social service work. He was also a member of the East club team back in Utah, making many proud.

When he moved to Pearland, Texas, people appreciated his warm smile. Many described him as funny and kind. From what I read, everyone around him felt better because of him. I know how one friendly person can change the atmosphere of a group. It reminded me of a friend from school who always made everyone laugh effortlessly.

Evan’s mother, Shawnda Chain, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook. She mentioned that she struggled to find the right words and that losing Evan crushed her. She also wanted those who loved her son to have a chance to say goodbye.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at South Park Funeral Home, located at 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, Texas. Family visitation will be from two to three in the afternoon. Public visitation will follow from three to four. The leading service will take place from four to six in the evening. There will be a dinner afterward, but the location is yet to be determined.
