I still remember the first time I played Gears of War back in school. It was late at night; I sat with my headphones on, and the sound of Locusts crawling up from the ground sent a chill down my spine. Gears of War: Reloaded just brings those memories back, only blanketed in fresh paint.
Story and Gameplay
The game is set 14 years after an incursion of Locust, underground monsters. Cities lie in ruins, the environment is desolate, and humanity barely scrapes apart. You are to step into Marcus Fenix, a soldier who was once imprisoned but freed by his close pal and comrade Dominic Santiago. Together with Delta squad, you would thwart wave after wave of enemies, simply trying to keep what remains of humanity alive.
I, for one, particularly enjoyed the story mode with a friend. Online co-op is great because you can relive certain moments with a friend. Those who would rather try their hand at a competitive atmosphere would find plenty of Versus multiplayer modes to keep them busy.
Remastered for PC
Graphics-wise, this one implemented Unreal Engine and is thus a huge improvement over the original release. Playing it on my PC, the textures and lighting made it feel like a completely new game, even though it is the same story I grew up with.
One thing I liked is that Gears of War: Reloaded has all of the original game stuff, such as bonus campaign missions, multiplayer maps, and cosmetic items. You don’t have to pay extra; it’s there for you.
Controls and Experience
The controls feel smoother now. Newbies will appreciate the modern layout for a quick start, but for veterans like me, you may switch back to the old layout anytime.

I, for one, enjoyed going back to the campaign and realizing just how smooth everything feels now. This is most definitely worth the download for the action shooter fans.
