In running a gemstone business, one must manage time between digging for gems, refining them for maximum worth, and selling them to customers. Your Grandmole goes off on a vacation while you are left in charge of her shop. How peaceful this sounds indeed! But then it dawns upon you that the shop falls way into debt. Now you have to make the business flourish while also getting rid of a Loan Shark who is aptly waiting for his dues.
Days in Gemporium are time-cycled; each day, you must weigh options on when to mine, refine, or sell. Sometimes the balance can be quite tricky, as you realize there are just not enough hours in the day to do it all; hence, make your choices wisely.
The mining areas provide a variety of gemstones from which to gather, according to their qualities. I find using the proper tools makes all the difference because if you damage the stone while excavating, the gem’s value depreciates considerably! If you manage to extract an unblemished gem without any cracks, it`s heaven.
Polishing and refining followed the mining. Selling the raw gems will just net one little profit, so spending some extra time on the refine table is meaningful. The gems look much more pleasing after polishing; collectors will pay much more for them!
