Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL rumored to have a 90Hz ‘Smooth Display’ Well By this time, it’s no longer a secret that Google’s upcoming smartphone will be featuring a dual-camera setup on its back, marking its departure from the traditional single-camera found on the first three generations of Pixel phones. This was confirmed by Google itself in June when it disclosed renders of the Pixel 4 on Twitter.
Now, a fresh rumor claims that the next-gen Pixel device will be sporting a screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, with the feature being called “Smooth Display”. If it’s going to be the case, the Pixel 4 will be following in the footsteps of the OnePlus 7 Pro in adopting a display with such a fast refresh rate.
While the Pixel 4’s camera design has also been known, courtesy of the official renders, the latest rumor presents new interesting details about the phone’s rear shooters. According to the claim, Google is building a DSLR-like accessory that could be attached to the device’s rear camera. Additionally, the dual cameras are said to consist of a 12MP phase-detect auto-focus shooter and a 16MP sensor paired with a telephoto lens.
Other specs claimed by the rumor include a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of internal storage, a 2,800mAh battery for the Pixel 4, and a 3,700mAh battery for the 4 XL. In addition, the smaller Pixel 4 will reportedly sport a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display while the larger model is believed to have a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ display. Both phones are also reported to have stereo speakers and exclusive Google Assistant features.
These details remain conjecture for now, although Google also confirmed late last month that the phones will include Soli, a motion-sensing radar which will work to detect the movement of your hands in order to “skip songs, snooze alarms, and silence phone calls,” among other tasks.
