A Big Idea Hits a Bigger Roadblock
The Grand Theft Auto franchise is a cash cow, dominating not just gaming but entertainment as a whole. Every Rockstar Games release racks up huge sales and rave reviews, and GTA VI looks set to keep that streak alive. Per a Wiki entry, GTA V from 2013 is the second best-selling game ever, with over 210 million copies sold across PCs and various PlayStation and Xbox models. What’s Ross plotting? Dexerto says he’s dreaming up a GTA VI role-playing server powered by cryptocurrency. “It’s gonna be pure RP,” he told FaZe Banks in early February. “I’m making the top server out there, no question—we’re pouring big money into this.”
Chatting on the NELK Boys’ Full Send podcast, Ross spilled the details: “When GTA VI lands, I’m building an economy running on crypto coins, tied to my server as a solid asset. You make money in-game, you can cash it out. I want folks working jobs, living it up on my turf.”
Here’s the kicker: die in his server, and your crypto vanishes. That’s got gambling vibes written all over it—putting your digital dough on the line. Think Rockstar’s signing off on that? About as likely as Michael, Franklin, and Trevor hosting a cozy Friendsgiving.
