Halo is coming back, and fans like me can hardly wait to see what’s in store for 2026. Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries, has been quietly working on a few new things, and that’s being talked about everywhere. Halo has had a special place in my heart since I was little, playing split-screen with my cousin, so news of new projects just feels special.
Rumor has it that the Halo Studios team is engaged in two major projects. One may be for the remake of the classic Halo campaign, while the other appears to be for a new live-service-style multiplayer game. Remake sounds amazing since the old Halo missions sure were legendary. Experiencing those moments again in new graphics and with better mechanics will be really something.

About the multiplayer: word says that this new Halo multiplayer won’t be battle royale-ish like Fortnite, but live-service-ish kinda way; meaning, new content, new events, updates, you name it! Great decision! Games like Fortnite and Apex Legends keep their players interested through constant updates, hence it would only make sense for Halo to want to do that too.
Dude, I’m sure I remember when Halo Infinite came out. Free multiplayer, seasonal battle passes, earn stuff without wasting time on grinding, it just felt good. A game had its own set of problems, but it did indicate that Halo could do pretty well in the free-to-play world. Could Halo 2026 be an improvement on that system?
If Halo Studios does it right, that new live service model could keep players coming back every season; new maps, challenges, co-op story missions, or new weapons and gear could make things interesting. Think of it more like the Halo universe could keep expanding rather than end after just one campaign.
About the remake: I’m pretty much for it! Quite a lot of players started gaming far later and thus never got a chance to play the original Halo. If done right, a remake would give them a chance to see where everything started from. I remember having sleepless nights trying to complete “The Silent Cartographer” mission, getting stuck completely—frustrating but also very fun! Those are the memories that made Halo special, and the remake can work towards giving it back.
Right now, no one really knows what this new multiplayer will look like. Some think it might be more team-oriented or could be set in a world with real-time changes. Whatever it is, it absolutely must stay true to the fun that is Halo: great gunplay, awesome vehicles, and that sense of fighting for something bigger.

Fans will surely expect something big to be revealed during the World Championship. The timing seems just about right for Halo Studios to showcase a trailer or some info about the new offering. If they show both the remake and the new multiplayer, it could really mean a new turning point for Halo.
Basically, I want the game to be Halo again- it should be straight-up fun and packed with moments that earn a person a “wow!” Kudos to them if they live that old-school charm by infusing some modern updates. Then all will wait for the return of Halo 2026! You may also be interested in: GTA 6 Trailer 3 Might Drop on November 8 – All Signs Point to It
