Inkshade Overview

Inkshade is one of those really dark and weird games that stick with you. The game begins with the figure of some creepy person standing back of a desk, you are about to play his wooden board game. You are positioned as a captain in chase of the abyss for a place known only as the abyss.

To get to the secret place, you need to conquer an entire continent, lay your hands on an airship, and soar through notoriously cursed skies. And you will not be alone on this journey, either. You will also be putting together a crew who will fight, explore, and take the risks necessary for you.

Winning is not in the cards for the first attempt at the game. Each run feels unique, while every decision matters, necessitating patience, tons of planning, and clever moves to outsmart the game master. Somehow, I kept facing defeat at first, but that only made me want to get back in and keep trying-it has that draw where failure makes you all the more hooked rather than walking away.

They could be compared with your game pieces; you refine the characters, upgrade them, and send them to turn-based battles on the board. Every piece has its role to play, and the deeper you go into the game-with puzzles and wandering through the dark rooms behind the desk, the more classes and skills can be unlocked to be discovered. The first time I saw the eerie stains on the carpet in the game, it was like this unsettling, creepy vibe that made me feel really curious and unsettled.

You may recruit new members for your club in the middle of a campaign by beating enemies. Whether they join or not becomes irrelevant. Participants will then fight for the sake of their cause until the last day. Witnessing your troupe gradually become stronger after each foray is a great experience, even when the voyage is shaky.
