The Jotunnslayer Hordes of Hel is a survival roguelike wherein there are myth-inspired endless waves of enemies coming toward you; then you select from various cursed heroes and step into the trial of the Gods, defeating monsters born from the great legends.
When I first played the game, I thought for sure it would be just another horde game, but the atmosphere and the battles really drew me in. Each run is slightly different because while the enemies tend to grow in numbers, the true challenge of it does increase rapidly.
Classic, however, staying alive for longer while unlocking things to ease the next run, like weapons, skills, and upgrades that really change how you do things. I like testing different abilities and seeing which ones help last longer against the tougher bosses.
Gameplay and Features
Survival Runs: You fight through never-ending enemy waves and try to last the longest.
Quests and Challenges: On every run, among the objectives that you may accomplish are additional difficulties to overcome. Sometimes, it concerns surviving longer, while other times, it’s about killing a special enemy before proceeding.
Upgrades and Progression: The meta-progression is one of the strongest themes in parts of the line. For each run, you can unlock new abilities, weapons, and perks to improve the game further away from repetition into greater reward.
Nine Worlds Setting: Levels inspired by Norse mythology, with each map making you fight in a different domain.
I only found surviving quests very entertaining since they give you something to aim for instead of just running in circles fighting monsters. This kept me going to try again after losing.

Why you should try JotunnSlayer Hordes of Hel
If you like roguelike action RPGs like Vampire Survivors or Hades, this one is likely for you: it has the addictive loop, but with a heavier myth theme; I personally liked the way you sometimes needed to balance going aggressive with playing safe to survive longer. Nothing beats finally beating a boss after many attempts.
