His best friend, Paul Taberner, introduced him to the club last season. From his first days there, he truly became a part of the club. He played Tuesday night games with his friends Roy and Ryan. People at the club called them the three R’s. Their skipper, Bill Fiddler, often spoke proudly about how well they worked together.
This year, Richard decided to join the Saturday pennant team, demonstrating his desire to grow in the sport and create more memories with his friends.
What makes it even more painful is that he played an excellent match on the Saturday before he died. He even celebrated the win with his team over a beer. Nobody knew that would be the last time they laughed with him.
