The entire area of Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce has been rendered so sad by the loss of seventeen-year-old Alexie Truong. He’s known to be a friendly boy with strong soccer skills. His family has not disclosed the circumstances surrounding his death, and people have tried to give them their space at this difficult time.
Alexie was born on July 23 in 2008, and he grew up in Port St. Lucie. He became known in the community, especially for how good he was at soccer and generally as a nice helper. Even though I didn’t know him in person, I have seen many young players like him in my own school. There is always that one boy who brings a nice vibe to the field. Someone young and full of dreams leaves much too early; it hits a bit differently, no?
Alexie grew up really small in soccer and dreamed of becoming a player someday. He played for the varsity boys’ soccer team at Fort Pierce Central High School and spent time in defense and midfield, which is quite tough. It takes a rare athlete to competitively switch positions like that.
He joined the team in 2024 and helped finish the season with a record of seventeen wins and four losses, as well as very good rankings in both the state and at the national level that year. That shows how much effort he put into it.
Alexie had also played club soccer with the PSL Hurricanes, and many people in the club had respect for the way he played, along with the way he treated other people. His teammates and coaches always said that he brought good energy and made everyone feel like they belonged. They talk about how he acted like a leader even without trying to show off.

Social Media Fills With Messages For Alexie Truong
Once the news was out, many people started to share on social platforms their encounters with Alexie. Friends, players from the same area, and even local shops wrote messages for him.
Among posts that were attention-grabbers was that of Joys Ice Cream Plus, where Alexie worked. It was typed that he was the kind of boy who did his work smilingly and would talk nicely to everyone. The entire shop felt empty without him. When I read that, I was reminded of the first time at a stand made in the summer. There tends to be this one guy everywhere who is just always smiling and somehow lessens the boredom of a shift.
The PSL Soccer Club also wrote something about him. They said he was a very loved member of the Hurricanes family and a friend to many of the players. They further added that he’ll be missed on the field just as much as off it.
The entire Port St. Lucie community had been praying and supporting the Truong family through this time of loss.
