Ritual of Raven is indeed a slow, story-driven farming game; only it has a twist. You collect and enchant some Arcana Constructs, which will help you run your magical herb garden. I tried it out, and believe it or not, it feels just like running your little enchanted farm without having to break a sweat in doing so.
In this setting, various kinds of magic put down roots together, while someone has mismanaged ambitious plans about linking worlds with portals, going really awry. People lost things very precious to them, but the portals turned unstable, so now random visitors keep popping in through those chaotic portals into the village.
Then you fall into such a portal, and here appears Sage-the local witch. She thinks you are the perfect candidate for her apprentice, and your task is: help her search for her missing Familiar, Flufferstoop, and get well-acquainted with the ins and outs of magic.
As A Familiar Raven will also be included with you, you will collect magical ingredients and knowledge to perform your magical rituals. Fill in the pages of your Book of Shadows, find the Portal Keepers, and attempt to restore some balance to the portals causing trouble for the village.
By the way, I learned something fun while playing-it is said that when you harvest lavender with your hand, all its magic is lost-there’s a rescue mission now in Arcana Constructs. Just by enchanting them with a magical deck of cards, you can enchant them to plow, sow seeds, water, and even harvest herbs for you. Compete for all 22 Constructs and the inevitable transformation of your garden into a magical paradise.
